About us

We are Basha and CuChullaine O'Reilly, Fellows of the Royal Geographical Society and Founder Members of The Long Riders' Guild, the world's first international association of equestrian travellers.  The Guild has members in 39 countries, all of whom have made an equestrian journey of a thousand miles or more.   The Long Riders' Guild website is the world's largest repository of equestrian travel knowledge, while its sister site, Horse Travel Books, features more than one hundred equestrian travel classics in five languages.  More recently we launched The Long Riders' Guild Academic Foundation, the world’s first global hippological study of the arts and sciences.
